";s:4:"text";s:4704:" The current price is only $100 less than the Index which offers the potential for an improved field of view, improved base stations, a higher refresh rate, and Valve’s outstanding knuckles controllers. That modularity also allowed me to swap in my Index controllers for an even better experience. HTC Vive Cosmos Elite Specs .
The resolution, field of view, refresh rate, and fidelity are all excellent and enough to deliver at outstanding VR experience.
The slot PCIE1 is for the video card, which covers PCIE2 and it almost reaches the level of PCIE3. I will try again. At the same time, the Cosmos Elite desperately needs a price cut.
These are respectable specifications for any VR headset, but the resolution is clearly the high point.
I will try again tomorrow.
I didn't really play, but there was no flickering. My go-to first games for new VR headsets are as I quickly find myself getting lost in the flow of the music.
My first thought is that the connection is not very good, but it happens even when I am standing 3 meters right in front of the receiver (or whatever that is) connected to my computer.
Go figure.
Hopefully now it's time to play You need to be a member in order to leave a commentCosmos Elite: very poor image quality with wireless
For a better idea, looking at the drawing of the motherboard from the Quick Installation Guide (on the 4th page): Whereas the Vive Pro relies on externally placed sensors for more precise 360-degree tracking, the Cosmos, which was designed for living room … Apart from the External Tracking Faceplate, the Cosmos Elite is the same as the original Cosmos. I tried shortly to boost the priority, I didn't see any difference. With the cable it looks pretty good, but with the wireless I didn't have a chance to get a decent picture.
Wireless is such a CPU hog as the Vive output streams are sent from the GPU to be processed & compressed (in real time) by the vrcompositor.exe process and sent to the WiGig card - all by software. Try these steps before logging the issue report:-
Since the Elite no longer uses the inside-out faceplate, it’s no longer able to work with the new Cosmos controllers, and so ships with original Vive wands.
I played for some minutes, but now I am going to sleep.
I have been playing a bit, and things are a bit strange.
Visually, it’s a major improvement from the Vive but falls a bit short of the Index. What is the difference between wireless and no wireless?
I tried a little without wireless, and after that I followed the instructions to install the wireless adapter. I’m still waiting on a company to offer a better system for managing all of the wires inherent to modern VR. That 100% peak in the GPU usage got me thinking. So i removed the wireless and I started with the cable.
https://download.asrock.com/Manual/X470%20Taichi%20Ultimate.pdf Take, for example, the controllers. The image quality is very poor. I consider the problem solved for the moment.
Ask anyone who has spent hours in a VR headset and they’ll tell you, one of the worst parts of getting up and running is taking the headset on and off.
I use that hard disk only for games. Since the Vive Cosmos is one of the most adaptable VR headsets on the market, I was able to use my existing Base Stations with no problem, mounted in the upper corners of my room, and found the tracking to be on par with my Steam Index. Of course, none of that falls at the feet of HTC or the Cosmos Elite, but it doesn’t do much to solve this issue.
Cosmos Elite is the same hmd as normal Cosmos but with great tracking instead of useless.
